Wow!! It's been over 40 years since that magical four day weekend called Woodstock took place. 32 of the most popular and best music acts came together in Bethel, NY and performed in front of roughly a half a million people...and music history was made. If you weren't alive in August of 1969 or if you were too young to remember it I'm here to tell you that you missed something that only happens once in a lifetime. Of course, the times back then were totally different than they are now, as was the music, the people and the fashion. As Bob Dylan wrote, "The Times, They Are A'Changin'". I look back on those days often, sometimes with a sense of longing to be able to return to a time when life seemed so much easier. It really wasn't easier (there was lots of political turmoil and the Vietnam Conflict was very much in the forefront) but, as usual, when you look back on periods of time in your life they always seem to be happier and than they really were. I could go on and on about all the memories that those days bring back to me but, right now, I will focus on the fashion.
I remember those days as being pretty much a "wear whatever feels comfortable" time in my life. Along with that came the clothing accessories. I love big purses and bags, some of my favorites were the big hippie style bags. I could fit just about anything in those bags...you were always ready to rock when you had your big boho bag with you.
