The Meaning Of The Celtic Triquetra

In Wiccan beliefs the Triquetra represents the threefold nature of the Goddess as virgin, mother and crone. It symbolizes life, death, and rebirth and the three forces of nature: earth, sea and sky. The inner three circles represent the female element and fertility. The triquetra is also considered to represent the triplicities of mind, body, and soul. The triquetra is used to represent the Power of Three shared by the Halliwell sisters on Charmed, as seen on the Book of Shadows.

In Christianity it represents the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and is used by the Celtic Christian Church. It is an ancient Celtic design and it has been popular for centuries as a symbol for the Circle of Life.
